I am partly self employed and partly employed so have just had to do my tax form and pay up the self employed bit of tax. This is always traumatic -I hate tax forms. Last year I duely paid what theyasked then in March got a letter saying I had overpaid by£1700 and would I like it refunded _well yes!! It still took 2 phone calls before I got my money in April. So the tax office had my cash for 4 months. I thought I would avoid that this time so having done the form on line I tried to ring to check how much they really wanted. After 3 evenings trying to get through, and hanging on to an 0845 number for 33minutes I finally reached a real person. They were asking for over £2800 but in fact I only owed £1600 - what a scam.
Now I am very grateful to be over £1000 richer than I thought i would be this evernig but I am furious that they can ask for money I don't owe.
